Functions
(Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry)
(3 x 50 min.)
|
|
This eModule introduces the idea of a function and shows different representations. It challenges students to solve application problems by analyzing functions.

Math Insight - Digging Dirt
(Math 6, Math 7, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry)
(2 x 50 min.)
|
|
This eModule asks students to calculate what an excavation company should charge for digging a hole.
Students must find the volume of an irregular shaped prism,
convert units, calculate the cost based on a linear formula,
and write an explanation. Digging Dirt is based on materials
created by SRI International for the Math Insight project.

Patterns and Sequences
(Math 7, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II)
(3 x 50 min.)
|
|
This eModule reviews the definition of a pattern and gives students practice in
recognizing and extending patterns. It continues by introducing arithmetic and geometric
sequences. Students are guided through the process of creating mathematical rules to
describe sequences and solving for the nth term.

|
Right Triangle Trigonometry
(Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry)
(2 x 50 min.)
|
|
Students are guided through the process of discovering relationships
in right triangles and defining the Trigonometric Functions.

|
Transformation of Functions
(Algebra II, Pre-Calculus)
(2 x 50 min.)
|
|
This eModule uses interactive graphs to help students discover how changing core
functions (e.g. lines, quadratics, cubics) changes their graphs. Worksheets with
immediate feedback help students learn how to write functions that are
transformations of presented graphs and functions.

Writing Equations of Lines
(Math 7, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus)
(2 x 50 min.)
|
|
This eModule uses interactive graphs to help students deepen their understanding
of slope and extend the definition of slope to writing the equation of lines.
Online worksheets with immediate feedback are provided to help students learn to
read, graph, and write equations using the slope intercept formula.
